Real Estate Photography Home Prep Checklist

Follow these guidelines to get the best photographs for your real estate listing!

Exterior:

  • Remove cars from driveway
  • Close all windows
  • Sweep walkways
  • Pick up leaves, sticks, and branches
  • Stow garden hoses, tools, and supplies
  • Straighten and arrange patio furniture
  • Check and deactivate sprinkler timers


Interior:

  • Turn all lights ON and replace burned out light bulbs
  • Turn all fans OFF
  • Open all curtains and blinds
  • Turn all TV's OFF
  • Secure all pets before photographer enters home. Remove from premis if possible. (remove food/water bowls from view)
  • Declutter entire home and thoroughly clean all areas, carpets, windows, etc.

Interior KITCHEN:

  • Remove all items from refridgerator door
  • Store food in cabinets
  • De-clutter counters and stove
  • Stow small appliances
  • Hide soaps, cleaning items, dish towels, sponges
  • Clear sink of dishes and counter drying racks
  • Organize items on open shelves

Interior DINING ROOM:

  • Straighten/push in dining chairs
  • Add centerpeice, candles
  • Set the table for dinner
  • Add a vase of flowers

Interior BEDROOMS:

  • Make the beds
  • Arrange decorative pillows
  • Put away clothing and shoes
  • Clean under bed and surfaces of clutter

Interior BATHROOMS:

  • Hang fresh towels
  • Clear counters of toiletries
  • Clean mirrors
  • Clean toilet and close lid
  • Remove all items from tub and showers
